The forces assembled by Grand Inquisitor Theonin met at the gates of the Salan's palace and entered to confront him with their honor guards. Expecting Salan to request reinforcements, Theonin asked one force to guard the teleporter room in the barracks. Cannoness Mary volunteered her forces. The Teledan Guard and Dark Angels accompanied Theonin into the palace gardens. The Sisters arrived at the teleporter room and surrounded it. They were surrounded in turn by suspicious Wolves in Salan's service.
In the Palace Garden, the Wolves spoke first, howling for the ritual challenge of the Lion and the Wolf to be satisfied. The Wolf Guard Battle Leader, Mikhael and Dark Angel Captain Larsis met in the no man's land between the forces and fought barehanded. The Wolf's mighty fists pummeled the Angel to unconsciousness.
The challenge over, Theonin formally charged Salan with treason. The tainted Wolves were tipped off in advance by Salan due to the survival of the Plague Marines last battle and attacked at once. The Wolves fists accounted for many Ogryns and Theonin was wounded as several Wolves fell in return. Meanwhile, in the barracks, the Wolf Priest and his retinue of terminators made short work of the Cannoness and Grey Knight Terminator Lord, while a unit of sisters accounted for the Wolf Scouts.
The Wolves knocked Theonin to the ground and charged the nearest Dark Angels. Meanwhile, the agents of the Deathwing descended upon Salan and the Long Fangs guarding him. The Teledan Guard accounted for the Crusader and a great cheer was heard as it exploded. In the barracks, the Wolf Priest and retinue headed into the teleporter room and prepared to activate it while the sisters locked with a unit of Blood Claws.
The Deathwing knocked Salan down and slew the Long Fangs, but Salan managed to use a one use teleporter to escape before he was crushed in their fists. The Angel Captain awoke and rejoined the battle. The Teledan Guard fought valiantly, but the Wolves were too strong in hand to hand and losses were severe. In the barracks, the Terminators teleported and a unit of Grey Hunters entered the teleporter.
The newly arrived Wolf Terminators took down their Angel brethren and their Captain. The guard and the Angels managed to take down the speeder and destroy the Venerable dread, though there was not much left of either side. The remaining Sisters threw the Grey Hunters from the Teleporter with cleansing flame.
The forces scattered and the leaders dead, both sides retreated from the battle to regroup, resulting in a draw.
